Deaf CSUNians Meeting Minutes, Friday October 17, 2014

 

Absence: Emmanuel (excused), Tuzdie (excused), Clarisia (excused) and Matt (excused).

Quorum: Elena, Julia, Haya, Alexandra, Tyler, Danielle, Braden, Nhi, Tirzah, John Pak, Zach, Hannah, Loni and Gabriel (14 people)

Meeting Begins: 1:35pm

 

Reports:

• Elena (President):

  • MIC emailed me with an edited bylaw.

    • The major changes were formatting- like bold/italicized/paragraph format with several other changes.

    • Will have new business – TABLE for next week meeting.

• Julia (Vice President):

  • Will plan to have a RAP discussion next week AFTER the meeting.

    • Please plan on staying and bring thoughts if you have some!

• Haya (Secretary):

  • No Report

• Emmanuel (Treasurer):

  • DC’s new balance: $5,987.73

  • Gave reimbursement check of $94.56 to Tirzah on 10/15/14, Wednesday

  • Reimbursement checks pending:

    • Elena - $45.92

    • Nhi - $154.36

• Jeffrey (Sergeant at Arms):

  • Fee five people were late and late reports on last meeting.

  • Receive email from few people have good reason without fee them.

• Clarisia (Spring Banquet):

  • No Report

• Alexandra (Jask):

  • Official dates for Jask week are:

    • March 23rd-27th!

    • First committee in the morning (Friday, October 17th)

• Danielle (DC Lounge):

  • The DC picture bulletin is officially finished J There is a “NCOD Announcements” bulletin as well as a “CSUN Event’s bulletin. Please out the lounge if you haven’t seen it!

  • Starting next week, there will be a Fall Themed Bulletin board as well.

  • The Lounge is starting to look so much better. Still has lots of improvements though. Before and current pictures comparison will be posted on Facebook soon.

  • I’m still waiting from Bob regarding the survey.

• Tyler (DCAP):

  • I met up with Aileen on Thursday, October 16th. She gave me the Miss Deaf CSUN Pageant 2013 binder that contains important documents

    • The reservation paper works are almost done, so I will submit them next Monday.

  • I met up with Ashley last Sunday; she gave me the important documents/contracts for contestants.

  • DCAP information meeting happened this morning (Friday, October 17th)—POSTPONED.

• Matt (Recreation):

  • No Report

• Braden (Social Cultural):

  • Ready for Halloween Night?!?!

  • Brought everything except foods and wristbands and will get it done by today.

  • Has total volunteers 14 and are ready for their positions and schedules.

  • Have all 5 games ready

  • Will set up everything – start at 5pm before the event starts

  • Looking forward to see you all tonight!

 

• Tuzdie (Public Relations):

  • I re-posted hiking trip and posted DC Halloween night and DCAP informational meeting on media sites.

  • I requested hiking event page for Facebook to be setup due to being unavailable to access on computer over weekend. This was completed by Elena (Thank you again) and I have been helping re-post.

• Nhi (Fundraiser):

  • No Report

• Tirzah (Art):

  • No Report

Announcement:

• Gala Tickets and the event will happen on November 7th

• Fasmode at World of Dance in San Diego

• DCAP Meeting next Friday

• Lighthouse at the Dorm are having an Event next week on October 29th.
