First Week DC Meeting, Friday, 12th, 2014

 

Absence: Haya & Julia were excused.

Advisors: Robert & Kailyn

Quorum: Brandon, Jeffrey, Matt, Nhi, Turdie, Elena, Emmanuel, Danielle, Jack, Alexandra, Tirzah, and Clarisia (12 people)

Temporary Secretary for Haya: Emmanuel

Elena reviewed agenda. No minutes from last week.

Executive Board & committees submitted their reports.

Late Report:

• Jeffrey (Sergeant-at-Arms)

  • Will create forms for roll call, contract agreements and procedures and fine forms.

He will have people to sign the forms to enforce meeting procedure before the 2nd meeting begins.

• Turdie (Public Relations)

  • No report. She will collaborate with Matt.

• Tirzah (Art)

  • No report. Elena told Tirzah that she could get an access to our DC lounge to check our art supplies and get some ideas.

    • Roz: She suggested Tirzah to work wither to submit Deaf Art gallery for De’via

    • Introduced advisor & interim advisor alumni for DC 2014-2015.

    • Proposed $123.37 reimbursement from General Fund.

      • Vote: 7 votes, 0 opposed. 0 neutral. Vote passed.

      • Purpose: reimbursement for DC Retreat

      • Tirzah seconded.

• Nhi (Fundraiser):

  • New proposal for Rock Climbing Fundraise Event in SRC.

    • Tirzah seconded.

    • Open discussion – out of order.

• Braden (Social Cultural)

  • Proposed to open discussion about his Halloween Party Event.

    • Danielle seconded.

    • Purpose: His idea is to have Halloween Theme decoration, s’mores.

Possible provide BBQ and desserts, some game activities of blindfold pin the tail and darts balloons in the lounge.

Free admission to everyone. October 16th from 6-10pm. Pumpkin contest. Costume contest. Roz noted there is another event

on the same date: Deaf Theater.

  • Discussed about DCLC to spread words about registration, encourage people to meet their VR for cover expenses.

He passed out flyers & registration forms.

• Emmanuel (Treasurer)

  • Spread words of seeking volunteers for DCLC.

• Robert (Faculty Advisor)

  • Announced about Deaf International Week upcoming in 2 weeks. Friendly reminder about NCHDHH conference to advocate

members to attends it.

• Clarisia (Spring Banquet):

  • Planning to recruit volunteers under her for spring banquet soon.

• Elena:

  • Mentioned that Turdie will make a private Facebook group for DC only.
