Elena (President):

  • I had a meeting with Jim Macaluso yesterday regarding general interpreting services. He said NCOD is working on programs to enhance the process of communication between service providers, students and NCOD staff.

  • Our DC Retreat is on Sunday!!! It will be at Lake Balboa. We will meet at NCOD at 12:00 (noon), leave no later than 12:30 and carpool from there. If you are willing to carpool, please let me know. Please eat or bring lunch. We will provide snacks. We will have fun team building activities, games and assistance in event planning. The event will end around 4pm and we will return to CSUN

  • Peggie Reyna would like to work with DC give a workshop for women’s self defense.

Julia (Vice President):

  • No report. RAP Discussion will be hosted after the meeting! Please sure to have your thoughts ready!

Haya (Secretary)

  • Emailed the Pizza Rev and we, Deaf CSUNians will have a fundraiser at Pizza Rev on November 18th, Tuesday from 11:00am to 10:00pm (ALL DAY Event).

  • So please, advertise the fundraiser, committees! (Will post the flyer on our private group and DC Facebook page today).

Emmanuel (Treasurer)

  • DC new balance: $5,839.84 plus $15 from Sergeant-in-Arms fund [$5,854.84] (show DC budget spreadsheet)

  • Gave reimbursement check of $45.92 to Elena on 10/29/14 (Wednesday)

  • Gave reimbursement check to Danielle of $158.89 on 10/30/14 (Thursday)

  • Sergeant-in-Arm’s fine report (display DC budget spreadsheet)

 

Jeffrey (Sergeant-at-Arms)

  • No report.

Clarisia (Spring Banquet)

  • Hello all, we are still searching for venues. It’s hard to find a venue outdoors within our range but on Monday morning we will go visit a few and see from there. Also, I had a question regarding the Spring Banquet name itself. I know we picked mad hatter under the stars but that’s a little odd to put as the name of Spring Banquet. I will host/post a discussion on Facebook about this to see what you think. To keep that name or add another, but the theme is “Mad Hatter Under the Stars”.

Alexandra (JASK)

  • Discuss JASK dates during announcements, two options:

    • March 23rd-26th (to Kick-Off Silent Weekend)

    • March 9th-13th (open to discussing April dates as well, however historically I know JASK is in month of March)

  • 2nd committee meeting this morning, focus of meeting was discussing fundraiser

  • Have talked with Chipotle and have the ball rolling on the fundraiser, will be held on Tuesday, November 28th (date correction: December – unsure about the day)

  • Facebook page and Instagram page is in process of being made for JASK week by our PR.

Tyler (Deaf CSUNians Ambassador Program)

  • DCAP Information meeting will take place after DC meeting! Please stay for this meeting.

  • Haven’t heard anything from USU (whether room reservations have been approved).

Danielle (DC Lounge)

  • Still working on the survey.

Matt (Recreation)

  • Hike was successful with 12 people total who went. Next time will put up directions and also enforce a 24 hour policy to contact me about going to the event so I can easily send out information to those people.

Braden (Social Cultural)

  • Now working on to set up an event USU game room.

Tuzdie (Public Relations)

  • No report.

Nhi (Fundraiser)

  • I have went to Bounce Boba Loft to reserve the date for the fundraiser which will be on November 13th, Thursday. I am still waiting for the paperwork to be sent to me.

Tirzah (Art)

  • No report.

  • I move to set a women’s self defense class on November 21st from 9:30am to 11:30am.

    • Nhi seconded. Vote – Full house

  • I move to approve the MIC’s revised bylaw

    • Tyler seconded. Vote – 9 passed. None opposed. 2 neutral.

Matt (Recreation):

  • I move to have an open discussion about locations for ASL night.

    • Julia seconded.

    • Bob suggested the small theater at VPAC. Julia suggested the pub because the environment. Kailyn suggested the pub but can fix the lighting situation. Everyone agreed the location should be at the pub.

  • I propose to host a second hiking event on Saturday, November 8th at 8:00am

    • Braden seconded.

    • Amend – Clarisia amend Matt’s proposal date to Saturday instead of Sunday.

    • Nhi seconded. Amend Vote – 8 passed. 1 opposed. 2 neutral.

    • Vote of the Date: 9 passed. 1 opposed. None neutral.

Braden (Social Cultural)

  • Don’t have the proposal but it’s from the reimbursement proposal

    • Tyler seconded. Vote – Full House

Alexandra (JASK)

  • JASK official date proposal

    • Matt seconded.

  • I move to vote on JASK week on March 9th-13th as official date

    • Emmanuel seconded. Vote – Full House

Julia – Rugby game tournament at San Diego on Saturday and Sunday (SUPPORT Julia and Vanessa)

Emmanuel – event of Emmanuel and Karen’s Presentation at MPR on Thursday from 4:00pm to 5:00pm
