• Elena (President)

  • DC Meetings

    • Since we are rolling with work, DC meetings are open to everyone. Encourage your friends to come by! We will do a themed meeting next week…to be announced!

  • DC Retreat

    • I am working on a DC day retreat. Will post the possible dates online and you can vote on what works for you!

  • DC Introduction Video

    • I want to make a video announcing all new committees of DC. This will include people’s name, major, hometown and a little about their committee position. Let me know if you have any ideas AFTER the meeting!

  • Reminder

    • When you decide on your FINAL date for an event, bring it to the meeting to have it approved by the cabinet.

  • First Committee Meeting

    • I had my first committee meeting this week and we reviewed what needs to be taken care of and what we need to prioritize.

  • Polls Results

    • Right now we are writing for the polls results from Facebook and once we have them, we will vote on the most common voted one and make a final decision.

  • Venues Deadline

    • I have already been looking for venues and have made a deadline for myself to reserve on by the end of October/beginning of November.

  • Official Date

    • The official date for competition will most likely be on February 13th Friday (not February 20th, Friday because it’s already been reserved by someone). It’s still in process.

  • Update

    • Finally recruited one contestant. Still looking for more contestants.

    • Formed a committee of 8 people, which is enough.

  • Survey

    • The survey is still being modified between Bob and I.

  • Conference

    • This past Saturday I went to the Annual Club Recognition Conference with Tyler. It was extremely beneficial. I went to 4 workshops:

    • Conflict & Crisis Management

    • True Colors

    • Campus Event Planning

    • Leadership Initiatives & Icebreakers

  • I highly recommend anyone and everyone to go to the Annual Conference next year to learn how to be a better leader as part of organization and as a student

• Matt (Recreation)

  • First Hike     

    • First hike is on October 25th. I decided to do the “Rising Sun” trail in Solstice Canyon! It’s about 3 miles long and should take less than 4 hours total to complete.

    • All the information will be posted on Facebook and emailed out to people who are interested in attending. We will meet at 9:00AM at a specified location (for carpool) and then drive together to the location. SPREAD THE WORD!

• Braden (Social Cultural)

  • I talked with Bob about hosting Halloween event at NCOD and he approved it. It will happen on October 17th Friday at 6:00pm to 10:00pm

    • We will set up at 5:00pm and finished at 9:00pm (Clean-up)

  • Next thing on the list

    • I will go to PPM to get approve for beef/veggie burgers for Halloween event.

• Tuzdie (Public Relations)

  • Week of September 29th to October 3rd

    • Created and posted up Deaf CSUNians Ambassador Program on Facebook, Instagram, twitter, and Wix

    • Posted the “I love you but “flyer for Imax event on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.

    • Created and posted up the Polls for Spring Banquet 2015 on Facebook and Twitter.

  • New Business

• Tirzah (Art)

  • I bought supplies from Lowes for “Who Are You” Wall

    • 2 wood board, 3 chalkboard black paint, 3 hinges, 1 packs of 14 screws, 1 paint roller with a box, and 1 paint brush

    • I have filled out the form from MIC

    • I am waiting for DSA’s Treasurer, Michelle Jones, to reply back for the approval to use her yard ground to create a chalkboard.

  • I move to host a bowling event with DSA and AST on Thursday, October 16th, 9pm to 1pm

    • Tyler seconded.  Vote: Full house Neutral: 0 Opposed: 0

    • I met with DSA & AST on Thursday to discuss an event we can all collaborate on. We decided to have bowling this month and will have a November events as well.

    • Will use $50 to reserve the lane.

  • I move to have an open discussion about which date to host the Voices Off event (11/4 Tuesday or 11/6 Thursday; time 9:00-11:00pm).

  • I move to have an open discussion about the date for Staff vs. Students and ASL night (November 21st).

    • Emmanuel seconded.

    • Will create own flyer and will post in 24 hours.

  • I move to an open discussion about submitting PR events

    • I would like to discuss the requirements for me to create flyers and etc. from scratch from 24 hours to a more acceptable time

    • If don’t need to create actual flyers then 24 hours to begin PR is acceptable.

  • I, Nhi, move to vote on the shopping list and menu prices for DC BBQ event

    • 1 box mustard – 500 pk ($9.79), 1 box ketchup – 200 pk ($4.99) 1 box mayo – 200 pk ($9.99), 1 box 10 Roma tomatoes ($3.29), 1 pack iceberg lettuce ($2.39), 2 pack beef patty – 24 patties ($20.99 x 2), 2 pack veggie patties – 12 patties ($12.89 x 2), 2 boxes soda ($5 x 2), 5 packs burger buns – 12 buns ($2.10 x 5)

  • I move to spend about $120 and be reimbursed later for BBQ week.
